High School Student Group CPR Training

States that require CPR training before high school graduation are depicted in red.

Thirty-six states and the District of Columbia require CPR education for all students before high school graduation. The 14 states without such legislation are Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Wyoming. ​

More and more states are realizing the importance to have the young adults and graduating High School students understand how to administer CPR to help those in need in time of a cardiac arrest. Students trained in CPR would be ready and willing to provide CPR to sudden cardiac arrest victims. Many of these incidents take place in the home and at large sporting events. Students trained in CPR could put their skills to good use.
