Group Emergency Medical Response Training – FAQs
Q: What is the Group Emergency Medical Response (EMR) course?
A: The EMR course is an advanced emergency training program offered through the American Red Cross. It prepares participants to be the first line of response in a medical emergency, bridging the gap between basic First Aid and EMT-level care.
Q: Who is eligible to participate in this training?
A: This training is available exclusively to groups of five or more participants. It’s ideal for:
• Law enforcement and security teams
• Fire rescue personnel
• Athletic trainers and coaches
• School safety teams
• Industrial response crews
• Community emergency response units
Q: How long is the course?
A: The EMR course spans 56 hours total. Classes are typically scheduled daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM over the course of approximately 10 consecutive days. Custom schedules may be available for your group.
Q: Where is the training held?
A: We offer flexible options:
• On-site at your facility anywhere in the U.S.
• In-person at one of our training centers in Marietta, Doraville, or Alpharetta, Georgia.
Q: What is the cost of the Group EMR course?
A: The course is $800 per participant. A minimum of 5 participants is required to book a session.
Q: Is certification provided?
A: Yes. Upon successful completion, participants receive a 2-year Emergency Medical Response certification issued by the American Red Cross.
Q: What hands-on skills will we learn?
A: The course includes:
• Patient assessment and emergency response protocols
• CPR and AED for all age groups
• Airway management and rescue breathing
• Trauma care, bleeding control, and shock management
• Tourniquet use and naloxone administration
• Mass casualty triage and emergency childbirth procedures
Q: Does the course include opioid overdose training?
A: Yes. Our training includes opioid overdose recognition and naloxone (Narcan) administration, in compliance with 2020 CPR/ECC guidelines.
Q: Can this course be used to meet workplace or agency safety requirements?
A: Absolutely. Many public safety agencies, schools, and industrial facilities use this training to meet internal emergency preparedness standards.
Q: What is the cancellation or refund policy?
A: Due to the extensive planning required, this course is non-refundable. Missed sessions or late arrivals may result in forfeiture of payment. All participants must also adhere to our 2025 Holiday Closing Schedule.
